ESPN "LA Live" occupies the lobby, a portion of the second floor and all of the third, fourth, and fifth floors of a high-rise office building. Based on adjacency and stacking criteria, the floors are occupied by two high-bay broadcast studios of 5,000 and 7,000 square feet, PCR, audio, dimming, playback equipment, and green rooms. Also included are screening, editing, central records, ICR/MCR, transmission, encryption, ESS office, equipment, MIS equipment, ENPS, bottom line, MIS office, media storage/recording, graphics, news room, human resources/communications, ESPYS/X-games/EOE, communications, operations and programming.
The scope of work included a review of construction documents and shop drawings, organizing and participating in commissioning meetings, preparation of test scripts, functional and integrated testing, equipment rental, coordination of testing technicians, results analysis and report preparation, as well as, a final wrap-up and training meeting.
Genelco was responsible for review of all MEP documents, agendas and bulletins. We provided comments and guidance to enhance system operation from the commissioning aspect and organized and participated in commissioning meetings. In addition, we prepared test scripts for equipment, performed functional and integrated testing, prepared an emergency operation manual and provided system level training.
