Power Quality Analysis
“Power Quality” is taken too much for granted. There are many destructive features that can be invisibly “riding” on your electrical system. These are items such as having too much harmonic distortion (THD), phases that are excessively out-of-balance, line voltage that is either too high or too low, or the occurrence of unsuppressed power spikes. These, along with many other undesirable power characteristics can have adverse effects on your electrical equipment.
Even non-computerized equipment such as motors and lamps, items that are costly to replace, suffer from the effects of these invisible enemies. It is your annual operating costs that are at stake.
Genelco Inc. utilizes an array of instrumentation that is specifically designed to monitor and capture defects in power quality. Depending on the facility, different monitoring durations and a various number of channels are used to adequately capture and record the "state of the power".
The output report from a “Power Quality Analysis” also shows the changing load conditions throughout the monitoring period, the duration being custom-selected at the time of the data collection. If problems are uncovered with the electrical system, Genelco Inc. is available to make modifications or repairs as recommended.
It is wise to have a “Power Quality Analysis” performed at your facility, especially if never done before, or if any changes in the electrical system have been made, or are planned to be made. Genelco Inc. has clients that have this service performed on a regularly schedule basis, as part of annual or semi-annual electrical maintenance effort.
